Hello, March

It's hard to believe that its already March. It seemed like Christmas was only a few weeks ago. I've been busy with work and must be having fun, since you know what they say...time flies when you're having fun. :)
When March arrives, I realize that my birthday is just around the corner. I used to worry about growing older, especially after I hit the 40 mark. But now, its not so gloomy. I'm happy, healthy and enjoy my life so bring it on! My family is planning a little party for me on Friday night to include eats, drinks and playing our favorite game: rock band. I'm looking forward to this celebration especially since I am out of town for work this week. Maybe I'll make it a long weekend by taking an extra day off.

Have a great week!

Happy Birthday to my Seventeen Year Old!

It's hard to believe that my kids are almost grown. Today my baby girl turned 17. I treated her and her best friend and sister to a dinner at O'Charleys. Then the girls headed to the mall for a few hours. We will do most of our celebrating over the weekend. My girls usually like to drag out the birthday celebrations for a week or so. I tried telling her that birthday parties stop after age 16...but she didn't fall for it.

She is having a birthday party on Saturday and we are taking her and her BFF to a concert in Nashville. Its called the Rock Allegiance Tour. Click here for the Concert details. This should be fun. As a family, we enjoy going to concerts together. Some of my favorites have been Motley Crue, KISS and Green Day.

My post today will be a photo tribute to my daughter, Whitney. Seventeen years ago was one of the happiest days of my life.

Whitney - She can be found rocking out most of the time!
She is always cool!
Having fun with Whitney'!
Almost 17 years ago.....
Beautiful and Brains too!
As a mother, it's hard to watch my kids grow up. This year has been a challenge for me since Whitney is getting to the age where her mom isn't her best friend anymore. I'm slowly cutting the apron strings. I miss the days of when she wanted to be by my side constantly, but I'm enjoying watching her find her own identity and grown into a beautiful, young woman.

Happy Birthday, sweet daughter. My wish is for you to have all the happiness in the world and all of your dreams come true.

My baby girl is 21!

It's June 8th, a very special day to me. 21 years ago, my first born daughter, Jan'a Mechele was born. She was 6 weeks premature, but thank goodness she was healthy. Now she is a beautiful young woman, who is carrying her first child. I decided to display pictures of my "baby girl" in honor of her today.

Happy Birthday, sweetheart.

Motherhood sure has its rewards! We have had so many good times together. I love my family!

My Birthday

It was a long, exhausting week at work. But I made it! My birthday was on Thursday and I had to work so celebrating was postponed until Friday.

I did get some lovely flowers delivered to my office from my mom and my aunt. And my coworkers bought my lunch from Camino Real, our favorite mexican place. To top off my day, my daughter brought me a decadent cupcake from GiGi's and sang/danced for me! I don't even want to know how many calories that cupcake had.

Birthday flowers!!

I took Friday off work and my husband took me to lunch where I used my birthday coupon I received by email. Nice! I had a few friends over for drinks, snacks and to play Rock Band. We had a good time.

I'm looking forward to a relaxing day to recover from all the alcohol I had last night. I didn't think I drank that much. But my friend made jello shots that tasted like there was double the amount of liquor that should have been in them. They were good but now I'm suffering from a headache. Must have coffee. Lots.

Later today I am scheduled for my monthly massage at Massage Envy. I am looking forward to feeling relaxed and revitalized!

I feel as if I have lost my motivation to exercise. Ugh. I hate it when that happens. I am determined to find a way to get back on track. I have so many options in my home to choose from: Exercise dvd's, treadmill, stationary bike, Zumba and other fitness games on PS3. I don't know what my problem is.
At least I have stuck to the eating healthy plan for the most part. A few splurges now and then, but I have made an effort to pack healthy lunches every day and drink plenty of water.

I know I can do it. I just need to figure out why I lose interest in exercise.
What do you do when you lose motivation? I'd love to hear your comments!
